XTOOL D8 BT newest automotive diagnostic scanner performs ECU coding and online coding, allow you to access the ECU of a vehicle to customize car settings, reprogram the adaptive data for certain components after replacement to enhance vehicle performance, and also can unfold the hidden features, disable the annoying functions.
Active Test ( BI-Directional Control)
XTOOL D8 BT comes with Bi-Directional Control capability and is capable of performing Active Tests to access vehicle-specific subsystems and component tests. The tester outputs commands to the ECU to drive the actuators in order to determine the integrity of the system or parts by reading the ECU data, or by monitoring the operation of the actuators, like EVAP test, Cylinder Deactivation, Cycling A/C Clutch On/Off, switch fuel injector on/off, cycling ABS motor pump, test car window, door, sunroof, wipers and etc to pinpoint fault locations easily and effectively.
Support CAN FD Protocol
As a newest automotive diagnostic scanner, D8 BT can work on newer CAN FD protocol vehicles (for GM vehicles after 2020).

1.Oil Reset：Close the oil service light and reset service mileage & service interval after replacing the engine oil.
2.Electronic Parking Brake Reset：Reset the new electronic parking brake for braking wheels safely again.
3.Throttle Relearn:Allows to reset the throttle actuators to accurately regulate throttle (or idle engine) operations, helps keep your idling and acceleration smooth.
4.Tire Pressure Monitor System Reset:Relearn TPMS sensors so that new sensors can be recognized by ECU.

6.Key Programming/Immobilizer:Allows to disable a lost vehicle key to protect the vehicle from being stolen and add the new key.

The difference between the D9 and the D9 Pro is:
- D9 Pro supports ECU CODING for BMW / VW / AUDI / Škoda / BENZ…. The D9 only supports the VW / AUDI / Škoda.

Both the D9 and D9 Pro are both wireless Bluetooth. The D9 Pro comes with ECU programming capabilities on VW, Mercedes, BMW, and offline ECU programming on Ford, Mazda while XTOOL D9 does not.A few things important to note:
- If you don’t need ecu programming function, you don’t need to update D8 to D9 because they are similar.
- The D8BT (bluetooth) can NOT be wired in the event the BT fails. However, the D9 CAN be wired if the BT fails.
- ECU Programming is available on the D9 but limited to VW/Audi/Skoda. ECU Programming on the D9 Pro is expanded to BMW, Mazda, Benz, Ford, VW/Audi/SKODA.
- D9/D9 Pro has the topology scanning to see the network diagram.
