Q:After connecting and running ISTA-D 4.39 software with vxdiag vcx se BMW scanner, it won’t communicate with vehicle. The software asks to update ICOM firmware. How to update?
Answer:
A:VXDIAG VCX SE firmware is not ready for ISTA 4.39.
New version ISTA requires new BMW driver support. ISTA 4.39 driver is not yet released.
Better use a compatible version, i.e ISTA 4.32.

Q:I just got the vxdiag vcx se BMW diagnostic scanner and ISTA-P asks for an activation key. I followed your guide to paste the license key in ISTA-P text on desktop. But still not activated ?

Solved. Change the computer date to the day after the current date.
For example, the current computer date is Nov. 21st, 2022. Change the computer time to Nov. 22nd, 2022.
